The business is also focused on development of alternative waste-treatment solutions and energy from waste. In 2007, Sembcorp launched a solid waste treatment and recycling facility in Singapore to increase the rate of recovery. The facility recovers recyclable materials such as plastics, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and energy resources from solid waste. The production of solid recovered fuel is also being explored. Solid recovered fuel is produced from combustible waste that can be stored and transported, or used directly on-site to produce heat and/or power. |
